To professionally assess a floral design, we use the FD5 Floral Design Rating System - a standardized method for judging arrangements based on both visual composition and technical mechanics. Each design is scored on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 representing exceptional excellence. The rating takes into account color harmony, balance, proportion, creativity, and craftsmanship, as well as the underlying mechanics that ensure stability, hydration, and longevity. A design that looks stunning but lacks proper support may not earn a high score, while one that combines artistry with structural precision demonstrates true mastery in floral design.
